People Ask Me How I Organize and Manage All of My Email Lists.

3 Boxes and a List Helps You To Move Out of Your Own Way!

This morning as I was spending some time in meditation a thought came to me.  I used to teach organization and time management and one of my favorite ideas for becoming organized was called 3 boxes and a list.  The more I thought about this the more I was thankful for this inspired thought.  What if I could do some personal life cleaning and organizing using the 3 boxes and a list method?   I could clean out the old thoughts that stop me in my tracks, the thoughts that no longer serve me.  Then I could fill myself with positive, kind, nonjudgmental thoughts.  Thoughts that are true about my abilities and myself.  Thoughts that move me forward in my life.

The first box would be the throw away box, It would be all the junk that runs around in my head.  All the limiting thoughts, all the thoughts that I am not good enough, I don’t have the right education for that, I am too old to do that, if I had more time, I don’t, I can’t I should, if only etc. etc.  You know the drill because you most likely have the same negative thoughts too.  Those are the thoughts I will put in my throw away box.  They are things I no longer want and no longer need.  They are the thoughts that can hold me hostage if I let them. Albert Einstein said, “You can not fix a problem with the same consciousness that created it.” So it is time to change the stinkin thinkin and move on to better thoughts.

The second box would be my give away box. This box is for the good things I can do for others.  What can I do that would make a difference?  How can I make someone smile?   What random acts of kindness can I give away to others?  Where can I give money that would make me the happiest?  Who can I serve?  How can I help?

The third box would be the save box. I would fill this box with all the good things about me, and all of the things I am grateful for.  I would fill this box with all of my successes in life.  I would fill this box with my spiritual thoughts. My knowingness that I am a part of the Divine and that alone makes me able to do the things I want to do.

I would also fill this box with all the things I appreciate about my life and all the things I am grateful for.  This would be a huge box.  Filled to over flowing

Now on to the List, This list could be used to write goals, dreams and aspirations down on paper. You could use this list to help yourself stay focused on your goals.  This list could be used to keep you honest with yourself.

This is a simple, easy, way to clean out the junk in your head, to unclutter your thoughts and to help you to move forward in your life.

Out With the Old and In With the New!

It’s hard to believe, that January is right around the corner.   What a wonderful month January is – the start of a new year and a great time to make plans and goals for your life.  Yes, I did say plans and goals and not resolutions.  Most New Years resolutions are broken by January 5th.

Have you been thinking about simplify your life?  Are you having a challenge knowing where to start?  My suggestion is to make a plan

to take small steps each day to make your simplified life a reality.

One of the best ways to start is to examine your old beliefs about the “clutter” in your life.  How much do your really need to have around you, and how important is it that you keep up with the Jones?  Give some thought to how the “stuff” in your life is serving you.  Who is the master, you, or all the things that you have crowed around you?  What is more important in your life, people or the accumulation of things?  Perhaps it is time to eliminate the tired and worn-out ways of thinking that you have accepted about without critical evaluation.

The next change to consider is out with the old things that are just sitting around your home.  Make a decision to avoid the pack-rat syndrome.   Start in one corner of the room, a drawer or a cupboard and remove all the items that are no longer serving you.  Simply make the choice to give the things away that are not serving you for your best.

Decluttering your thoughts and space is one of the best ways to bring new energy into your home or office.   Psychologically, as well as literally, you are making space whenever you give things away.  The best part is that the empty space you are creating can be filled with the things you really want in your life.

I wish you the BEST, of all possibilities as you endeavor to declutter your life.
